And there it is, and by 'it' I am referring to one of these building's many service units. Ummmmmmmm....yeah, don't really need to say much, as they say a picture is worth a thousand words, actually in this case we better make that 400-500 words
This is one of the connection joints between two of the 5 building components. This type of connection really stresses the need to create a whole building that expands, which will hopefully eradicate the need for any of these connections
A lot of people have fantasies about twins, however i'm betting that these two ladies probably weren't invited to the party. However looking past appearances the thing that I am trying to touch on is the lack of any real link between these two buildings. The gap is barely wide enough to act as a corridor, and the overhanging extension wire and caged intercom system seem like lonely additions to these solvable problem
THINGS TO CONSIDER FOR DESIGN
- Aesthetic appearence, try using combination of materials rather than different combinations of the same
- Work on the footing systems, either hide or make a feature
- Try extremely hard to use passive heating a cooling systems, try to reduce active systems that will just be stuck onto the exterior
- Minimise component connections, try and keep the bulk of the design within the one unit if possible
- Work on an appropriate connection between units, such as a raised walkway of planter boxes in corridors that are deemed unnecessary
